Life Seems Too Short Poem by Francis Duggan

Life Seems Too Short

Life seems too short for stress and care and worry
Since I came to this Land seems like only yesterday
But the babes back then their prime years now approaching
And two decades and a year have since ticked away.

And what's life about I've asked myself that question
Like Nature's Seasons to and from life we come and go
And like all other life forms we are only mortal
And death comes quick or if not painful and slow.

Nature herself is the only immortal
At least the only one of which I know
I've loved her since I was a school-going fellow
And my love for her it only seems to grow.

The best years of my life are long behind me
Time doesn't wait it ticks and ticks away
My chance at life came from an act of Nature
And in her bosom my remains will lay.
