Life Span Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Not that I have descended from heaven
With the qualities of poet all of sudden
But I write in simple way to be felt as poet
Life seems to be flowing smooth and quiet

I come across many poetic versions
They have pure and adorable emersion
With metaphors and phrases to adore
I go still deep and try to find more

No where I find arrogance or intoxicant behavior
They are well within their ambit and border
Readers make them cautious to be reasonable
No storm or lavishness with thoughts to create trouble

Yet it has to be taken as god's gift
With awakening of soul and consistent shift
All the more important is commitment towards humanity
That should be the only goal if poetry is the gift from almighty

Mince no words in the theme
It must directly concern and touch them
What has it to do with belly of hungry man!
If it has no teeth to concern with the problems of human

I open the leaf from heart
Take it as simple form of art
Feel its pain and ink as it is felt
Fragrance come automatically and smelt

I have no worry to be termed as arrogant
Because such type of words may be simply absent
It will explain as have been experienced
As if to address the problem when faced

I shall write till I lay down
The only trustworthy weapon
That has remained thorough out the life span
As water has remained life line for swan
