Light Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Light

The nature
As creator
Preserver
And destructor
The scholars
Define
The whole creation
Subject to change
Decay
And destruction
All transient.

Evilness
Can’t persist
Or perpetuate
Ultimately
Worldly name
And fame
Can’t enchant
For ever
Slur and blame
Can’t distract
The way.

Overcome
The evil forces
Violence
And cruelty
Hatred
And gloom
With faith
And zest.

It’s above
The failure
And success
A devotion to
The noble cause
It’s always better
To act and fail
Than to remain
In sloth and slumber
For every failure
Teaches more than
The heap of
Edification
Provided by
The books
Of the world.

The absence
Of evilness
Certainly not
The source
Of peace
Whereas the will
To fight it out
And a resolve
To go through
Personal experience
Live deep inside
And be contented
With doing one’s duty
Not contemplating
On the result
Pours truth
Love and light.
