Light

Have you ever put a lamp on?
A book to read at night
And thought about Gods Word & Son
The King of Heaven’s Seed

Ever gave thought of Heaven’s Light
At the close of the day
Of those still lost and just well might
Had need to find The Way

On numerous times light has played
Many a noble part
No greater when it could invade
Into a sinful heart

When children await the rapture
Where darkness floods the land
Hell’s shadows seek will seek to capture
The lamps in Jesus’ hand

For children at The Master’s feet
Who have The Lord as friend
The darkest foe will easily beat
When learning light to bend

True Light’s a tool of The Master
Through which the righteous see
For fending off each disaster
The devil’s sought to be

Whether its strong however bright
Through truth we understand
A child of The Lord fears no light
Within a righteous hand

Woe to the darkest evil horde
That would God’s camp invade
So says The living Christ our Lord
God’s Lamp that will not fade
