The time you're away
leaves a longing in my heart
the smile you bring to me
from the touch of your kiss
brings a memory of all I miss
I count the hours we're apart
until you're back to stay
you're the light of my soul
that I can not control
I wait for you here patiently
with arms open wide
for you to be by my side
dreaming of you to hold
to warm me through a winters cold
reaching out for days of new
just to whisper softly
