Like A Diamond In The Sea Poem by Amy J Richardson

Like A Diamond In The Sea

All above the world
From where the light shines down,
And the planes fly through the clouds
That are gloomy grey and brown.
The stars are always there
To look upon all night,
They make the death weight on my shoulders
Seem ethereal and slight.

I've always liked the stars
Yet never been sure of why,
I guess I want to be that far away
Doing nothing in the sky.
To exist in the depths of Out-There,
But still look down to earth
To keep in touch with life
And not forget it's worth.
I know I still want to live
But I'm not content being me,
I want to be like a star
Or like a diamond in the sea.
