    Being Welsh, he had no umbrella! I am not sure if this girl was rain or storm. 'Blessed rain' sounds decidedly unstormy - more like the 'silly' rain that redeemed the Ancient Mariner. But I suppose an interpretation could be that his love began like an unexpected and refreshing rain, went into storm mode, and then became rain again, though more predictable and, perhaps, 'holy' - which is probably why she got shot of him.
