Limbo Poem by Biff McGuire

Limbo

In this purgatory state that's new,
Where love of none and friend of few
Can wander now from place to place
and let the whole world judge his face.

Night and day through work and play
seeking smiles along the way
One signature to set him free
some say is never meant to be

Prolonging pain on either side
and forcing hands that none can hide
Anger leads to self defense
with words that seldom make much sense

Then high and low emotions fly
erupting with a shout and cry
Subsiding now to climb again
to angry heights not known to them

What is at stake do any know?
Who crimped the stalk of love that grows?
It's nothing, but too many times
those nothings add to something lines

And when ignored and left to simmer
boils away loves glow and glimmer
Till the cauldron's empty then
to never fill with love again
