Listen Poem by Candace Johnson

Listen

Listen what do you hear,
do you hear the forlorn cry of the wind?
Haunting us day and night,
calling us to and fro,
with never a place for us to go.

Listen what do you hear,
do you hear its beauty?
Swishing past us day and night,
wanting us to follow,
with never a place for us to go.

Listen what do you hear,
do you hear its fury,
Raging pulling on us day and night,
wanting us to obey,
with never a place for us to go.

If you hear it,
then hear me now,
do not go,
for in its cries of helplessness,
in its beauty of greatness,
in its rage of madness,
is the truth.
