What do you think this poem is about?

Listen To Our Shout

I sit here and mourn the loss of kin,
because of another countries sin,
I think of the families feeling so bereft
the wives, mothers and children they left

It is time for the powers that be to note,
This is about lives, not winning a vote
Each day is a risk in the name of peace
How many more soldiers lives must cease?

This day I hang my head in shame
And I know where I firmly lay the blame
Look at your hands, see how they're stained
Red with the blood of our kin you have maimed

How can you sit in your ivory tower
Abusing your fragile positions of power?
Isn't it time you listened to our shout?
These warriors are our family, GET THEM OUT

I understand the sentiments of this poem and with a little work it could be great but some of the rhyme is clumsyand stanza VI is ambiguous line 4 could be read as the powers that be whose lives must cease, not those of the soldiers However it it is a good effort and I agree with what you are trying to say: O) Paul P.S. feel free to criticize my poems which are not perfect by any means.
