Listen To The Children Poem by dino evans

Listen To The Children

Listen to the children,
Watch them as they play
Keep your eyes upon them
As they wander through their day

God saw fit to give them
A power we have lost
For happiness, and innocence
But much too high the cost

For us it is the life we lead
That clouds our conscious mind
We recall the ways of youth, it seems
But only to a point, I find

I see in them, a truer thought
Pure, profound, sublime
Life as yet untouched for them
By the ravages of time

So watch your children as they play
Listen, as they speak
And realize that each one is
Remarkable, unique

Know that as they grow
They carry us along the way
Live for them, so short the time
We're with them, anyway

Love the little children
Enjoy the love they bring
Sit back and listen to the sound
Of the song your children sing

It's a wonderful melody....
