Little Baby P Poem by Lulu Gee

Little Baby P

Rating: 5.0

Dear Lord the nation’s weeping
For a baby so abused
Who suffered so appallingly
For this I am confused
I know not why you left him
In Satan’s house of crime
Hearing neither love nor joy
Or childish nursery rhyme

Deserted by the human race
This little boy slipped through
A net of social justice
Carers’ and neighbours too
How can a mother mutilate
Her baby with disdain
His cries for help unnoticed
His body racked with pain

I won’t desert you Father
Two wrongs don’t make a right
But I can’t understand
Why you failed that little mite
My tears are spilling over
As I write of Baby P
Who’ll never see a birthday
A flower or bumble bee

I hope he is now with You
In a heaven free of sin
An innocent little angel
At your hallowed feet playing
Place your arms around him Lord
For all eternity
And please make it better Lord
For little Baby P
Amen

Such a heart wrenching poem Lulu. The structure and rhyme is beautifully executed and it is quite hard for me to comprehend such abuse of a little child. Excellent writing. 10 Karin Anderson
