Little Elegy - Poem by brian musonda

And so I write this elegy about my little sister..............a tear drops from my eye down onto the floor making it cold very cold just like the very day she left me.........that day mom cried.....dad cried........that vast grief and the grievous days that followed made my heart detonate, but in those very dark ashes of my heart I believed I was going to see her again..............however that plight continued....thinking of those wondrous moments I made her laugh and all those times she left me in awe by the way she perceived things...the girl was good...so good that she was great.....'Her beauty was like silence in a cup of water'..........its a shame she had to go on her very seventh birthday and I have been lamenting ever since.....I have grown feeble......after she left its been a real 'cliffhanger'.....after she left its been dark very dark and whenever I come in the light that dark cloud still follows me around.................................. This seldom weariest feeling incinerate my heart.......if this is the way things are going to be..........I choose to die first and be buried by my beloved ones than to be present when all my beloved ones die..........this feeling when you lose a loved one........I swear nothing on this earth is akin and I for one ain't strong enough to contain it........ And yet again I'm very much aware of the reassuring words found in the bible that we will see all our loved ones who we have lost again......I replay these words in my mind every day and I find a reason to hold on to the future..................... And although I know that it might seem not important...but when I become successful I will put a new tombstone on her grave and I will have this epitaph incised on it: 'here lies a beautiful princess that made many hearts happy and jump for joy in her very presence, an enthusiastic amiable and loving illuminant.'
