Little Fish In The Great Pond Poem by Susan Lacovara

Little Fish In The Great Pond

Hardly noticed...
But I am here
Still here
Always here
Here, here, always here....
Swimming against the currents

Sucking in air
Puffing up
Avoiding the lure, the hook
Paddling....purposefully paddling
Paddling, paddling, always paddling
Here, here, always here
Swimming against the currents

Tiny to some....
But bigger than any could truly imagine
Should they look beneath the surface
I am, in measure, but a minnow
With a whale's heart
And a shark's tenacity
Here, here, always here.

Paddling, paddling, always paddling
Here, here, always here
Swimming against the currents

Sometimes it feels like a fish bowl to me...: -) ... a wonderfully written metaphor in perspective... touché dear poetess...

What minnow has not dreamed of having a whale's heart, or a shark's tenacity? A great poem. A 10.
