Little Lady Bug Poem by Jean Penner

Little Lady Bug

A tiny little Lady Bug,
Once lived across the sea,
And every day she asked the Lord,
'Is there a mommy yet for me? '

'Oh, yes, ' the Father told her,
'I've been watching her for years;
I knew that you would ask me,
So I kept her very near.'

'I took your baby kisses,
And sent them across the sea,
They landed on your Mommy's heart,
Where they were meant to be.

Your mommy felt the flutter,
And knew that you were there,
So she sent some kisses back to you,
-They traveled on her prayers.

Her love was splashed upon you,
-The deepness found in red,
Your little lady dots,
Mark the prayers that she said.

You are the little Lady Bug,
She wanted for so long,
You're the answer to her prayers,
You're the sunshine in her song.

Now dear little Lady Bug,
For the rest of your life through,
Know the beating in your heart,
Is your mommy kissing you! '
