Little Signs Poem by Bonnie B Long

Why does my heart beat when I see that little sign
That I have messages, when, I come online
I think that they’re from my special someone
I refuse to believe our friendship is done

I try to stay away from him with all of my might
But, when it comes to him, I’m not all that bright
I’m afraid with all that I’ve gone and done
I’ve lost his heart instead of won

My heart will always belong to him
Right now I need to sink or swim
I guess I’ll have to learn to muddle through
There isn’t much else that I can do

Pray that I am now doing things right
I won’t give up without a fight
One day I am hoping that he will be mine
Until that day nothing will be fine
