Little Tadpole Poem by Juan Olivarez

Little Tadpole

Little tadpole swimming in the pond,
Your'e losing your precious tail,
Of which you must be oh so fond.
But soon it will be, of no avail.

Your'e growing some legs,
And soon you will be,
Climbing out of the dregs,
And leaping to be free.

No longer a puny little tadpole,
But a little Leopard Frog,
Who has emerged from that slimy hole,
Leaping away all through the bog.
