Live For You Poem by Simon Willford

Live For You

Rest temptation’s clutching claws
You’ll never get the world’s applause
But if you sit there silently
You will get applause from me

You may not be a big success
Or care about the way you dress
If you learn to love yourself
They won’t put you on a shelf

Be happy in the moment
Don’t look to far ahead
Just day by day atonement
For the tears your mother shed

Be happy in your sweaty skin
You never know, someday you’ll win
Put down the bottle and the pipe
You never were the junkie type

Live for today…Live for you!
