Living Flame Poem by Kaitlin Bianca

Living Flame

What is a glowing filament
Compared to a flame?
It is still, silent;
It is dead
It does not shiver or draw back
When wind
Caresses it with cool fingers
Its metallic heart
Yearns for nothing;
Leaves behind
No wispy shadow
No reminder of the burning fascination
When killed
Because it has never been alive

Very intriguing. I love the way you give the flame traits only to yet again take them away.
