Living On A Grave Poem by David Tierney

Living On A Grave

Though some species last so long
Innocence doesn't breed so strong
Knowledge that's forever growing
A concrete jungle overflowing
Engulfing all inferior orders
Upheavel of the lesser others
Lacking the cognition
To make the recognition
That they're in the way
Come to find where they had stayed
Their homes destroyed
Children perished
Food vanished
What remains is grey walls
A graveyard
Forever expanding
Forever grasping
Forever suriving
The rest is secondary

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem really just came to me when I was thinking about how animals might react to their homes being gone. It's a recurring theme in what I write.
