What remains finally of us?
Ashes, wealth or status?
A few memories over a time
And our deeds - our living signs.

Even beyond our life
Our thoughts remain here.
In different degrees they are absorbed,
In many ways generations are inspired.

In the form of authors and poets,
In the form of singers and artists
We outlive our times,
Our deeds continue to inspire.

So, lead a lofty, creative life,
Be a hero in the strife.
Thus, make thy life meaningful
And future generations, very purposeful.
