Lonely Nights Poem by John Dillenger II

Lonely Nights

Where do I go
In the labyrinth of my head?
Where do I go
To escape the words unsaid?
Fragile pieces of me
Drift about the waves.
I'm still lost at sea.
Can I be saved?
The empty sky
Lays above.
The Rising tide
Has no love.
'But what of mine? '
A lonely night asks.
A home to find,
My only task.
I've felt hearts
So close to mine.
But like sea charts
There's always a line.
A boarder keeping me away
Nights to crush the light of day.
The stars are black,
The Moon behind the Earth.
At the suns back,
the night gets its birth.
A lonely night I'll have today,
A lonely night of black and gray.
With clouds blocking my light of day,
And thoughts clouding friends away.
A lonely night is here
But for how long?
Is it as I fear,
or am I wrong?
Will you come home tonight?
