Long Days And Long Nights Poem by Shalom Freedman

Long Days And Long Nights

Rating: 4.5

Long days and long nights
Waiting for words
The mystery of the unsaid
Greater than the said
And who knows where and why and how

And in the meantime
The wind shifts
The world moves elsewhere-

And we are left behind wondering
Why we are still waiting
And where it has already gone
And for some of us has never been

And why where and why and how became words
Whose sound has only been heard
By those who have for years
Tried to say them
And have not been heard at all-
