Longing Poem by Matthew Edan Oliver Palma

Longing

Long walks and crazy talks...
Senseless arguments that sprout silence...
Sudden bursts of laughter that break the ice...
Such profound questions about this life we seek...
Late mornings and unplanned trips...
Dressing up for somewhere but staying under the sheets...
Ice cream madness, or shakes, or sweets...
It didn't really matter if our future's bleak...
Sworn promises with smiles upon our lips...
Ignorant testaments of our complete naivete...
Movie houses, malls, and fast food chains...
The constant longing to be with you always...
