Lonley Station Poem by GJC boyle

Lonley Station

Waiting stationed like a train
Is anybody about
Where is the hustle and bustle
Only confusion and panic
Has the world stopped is it frozen in time
Or has time not caught up with us yet
Whistles blow and the rumbling of people
But why am i so alone
The emptiness the hollowness of being lonely
Why wont you come to me
Can you not see i'm standing in front of you
Time passes ever so slow
But i'm stationed here idling waiting
Whats got you confused you know where i am
I want to scream your name
But what name do i scream for you have many
The afternoon shadows caress the ground
Night will follow
Please come now as i'm scared of the night alone
I watch you pace back and forth
Here i am i scream but nothing comes out
Slowly the whistling stops
The rumbling of voices becomes a whisper
You stare in my direction
But you stare right through me
For i am empty i am hollow
Now night has fallen upon us
I watch you as you put on your coat
Please please don't be leaving
I'm here why cant you see me
Tonight i will be alone again
