Look At It This Way..

I'm a 200 year old guy
from oregon
who wears new hair
in places where old hair
never could grow.

I'm a one syllable word
desperate for attention,
yearning for a few more taps
of the ruler
on the chalkboard.

But mostly,
I'm just another hyphen
for humanity-
troubled by the connection
between me, and all of
you.

poet Pablo Neruda

I want you to know
one thing.

You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
