Looking Across The Hall Poem by Axiom Wheeler

Looking Across The Hall

Rating: 5.0

Looking across the hall, there is a child weeping into the air.
You see, little Melanie has no hope, and no one there to care.
This child’s pain pours deep into the soil.
Her life is gone because daddy left to study Hoyle.

She asks if God can understand, or if he even cares.
Then she remembers what she learned, that the Savior will be there.

He decided to make buildings while his home was losing hope.
Daddy left her for the money and now mommy’s up on dope.
Mel says it’s hard to live this life with all the people and the drugs,
So I’ll just wait for mom to heal and come back to giving love.

She asks if God can understand, or if he even cares.
Then she remembers what she learned, that the Savior will be there.
