Looking Back Poem by Sara Jo Andrews

Some day you’ll look back
On what has all happened
Then you’ll realize
What you have lost,
What you have done wrong.
You’ll wish that you could have done things differently
But you can’t change the past.
So you’ll look to change the future
But then you’ll realize you can’t change fate
You’ll be stuck in a time limbo between
Past and future
Its called the present
You can change the present
You can learn from your mistakes
You can walk up to that person
And tell them you want them back
You can tell your friend you are sorry
You can gather your things and walk away
But remember this you can’t change the past,
But you can change the present for a better future.
