Lord? Poem by Greta L. Suits

Lord?

I asked Him, Lord?
Why is there wind?
And He said,
To massage the trees and the grasses.
I asked Him, Lord?
Why are there trees?
And He said,
To delight the squirrels
And to nest the birds.
I asked Him, Lord?
Why is there sky?
And he said,
To mystify the earthly.
I ashed Him, Lord?
Why is there water?
And he said,
That is a question the scientists can answer.
Then I asked Him. Lord?
Why is there man?
And he looked at me
And smiled.
