Lord, I Am Ready Today Poem by Joann Carrano Passmore

To teach me to deal with my drug and alcohol addiction
Because I know that this is your jurisdiction
And I know that each time that I fall
I will have to get up and crawl

I also know that unless I really want my life on track
I must get off the booze and the crack
So God, I am turning my life over to you to help me heal
And I know the first step is to get on my knees and kneel

I need to ask for forgiveness of my sin
But forgiveness must also come from within
To deal with my problems and not make more
This will be a start by just opening the door

To realize everything that has been wrong is not my fault
And understand that the booze and dope has to come to a halt
To look to God for the help that I need
And learn to trust but most of all to believe

I want my life to be full of grace
Not one that is filled with turmoil and disgrace
So help me Lord and show me the way
Because I am really ready to start today
