Lori's Poem

Holding fast my breath
For the one that went away
Looking for a reason
Why my heart was led astray

Time cannot change
An exchange of words said
Especially when you’ve driven them
So deep into my head

We lay in bed, with toes on toes
My love went to your head
And it’s only a matter of time now
Until my love is dead.

From our last dance to our first kiss
Every second was perpetual bliss
How could you walk away from something you loved
When growing old together is all you spoke of

The dreaming tree of our future has died
But not before our souls were tied
Our love may be gone but I know it’s not dead
Because my heart may be empty but my soul has been fed
