Lost Poem by Holly Jamestone

Lost

Dear God, please melt my sorrow now
My heart so badly aching
My life confused, my soul so weak
Both here now for your taking

So hopeless do I feel tonight
With Sundays donning grief
Please take me where the grass is green
And let me know relief

Please let me ride upon your back
And shield me from the rain
And if I need to be a child
Please cradle me again

Please comfort me and make me safe
And never let me go
Just wipe my tears and whisper
All the things I need to know

Dear God, please aid me in my woe
The dreams so badly shattered
And let me know that in the end
My life's the one that mattered

Please give me strength to stand alone
To be my own best friend
To know that though the hours seem long
They won't be in the end

Please let me ride upon your back
Until I find my feet
Until I see the light again
Until life is complete
