Lost Poem by Stephen Dodge Stepen

Lost

These days
I've been trying to change my ways
I use to solve my pain with a bottle and cocaine
That way stopped working for me
Left me isolated and empty
A torn and battered shell
The life I had went through was pure hell
Chasing a dragron that couldn't be caught
All of the money I spent and I lost
Living in fear and denial
Surrounded by people betray with a smile
Abandoned houses and park benches
Homeless and living in the trenches
All for the sake of getting high
No answer to give when the family asks why
Don't know myself, just autopilot
All I know, just gotta have it
World getting smaller yet more complicated
So many relationships have been eradicated
Lost to the drink and the drug
Time to just put in the plug
