Lost and alone
like an autumn leaf
falling from a tree
These are the victims
of the beast they did see
let justice set them free
Love the first verse in particular Dave - conjures up a poignant scene in the imagination, Excellent.
You don't seem to share more details of the story. I have written 'Prayer for dying leaves...' (autumn 2009): I compared children to dying leaves as they got executed by somebody who had stolen their donation...
A Poignant write. When lost and alone they easily become victims of beast, its a warning to be careful.... Let's hope the victims gets the justice...Loved reading it. Thanks for sharing with us.
A great poem in brevity! Thumbs up poet. I can also relate it somehow to palestinian children. Nice to read u again.
Its an interesting allusion that you create, a falling leaf is often torn from the branch by acts of natural decay or by the force, the leaf separated by its branch, is like a child separated from society, abandoned to die alone. The problem is justice is often a blind keeper, it can never guarantee providing freedom for those that are wronged, when human beings get involve they have a tendency of sometimes making things worse if they become partial to one side. The only way to save a victim is to give them the tools they need to become free. Still great stuff
.............so easy for anyone to become a victim if lost and alone...reminds me of little red riding hood....sometimes the beast is in disguise...this write could be a warning for us all to be careful...

I would like to translate this poem
These are the victims of the beast they did see They became victims because they saw the beast. Because they know the truth. Hope justice will set them free. Beautiful poem expressing concern. Thank you.
