LOST IN THE WOODS

The woods beckon
So green
So deep
nature has woken
at morn
from its sleep
A buzzing hum
Is it a song
That makes me want to sing along
Butterflies of many a hue
Trees never seen before
So new
And the greenness
Unbelievable
Intense,
The jungle
So thick so dense,
Is it a cry
I hear?
Of the cuckoo bird
Heralding
The monsoon
So near
Come walk with me love
In the woods
So green
Do not fear
Let the sunlight
Filtering through the dark canopy
Of a vibrant green
Light our way
Let us just walk
Hand in hand
Through the woods
Just the two of us
Lost
Unseen

Poem of the Day

poet Henry David Thoreau

My books I'd fain cast off, I cannot read,
'Twixt every page my thoughts go stray at large
Down in the meadow, where is richer feed,
And will not mind to hit their proper targe.
