Lost Lives Poem by Lento Maez

Lost Lives

In gutted muted voices they cry
Seeking the unanswerable why

Collated damaged souls of war
In strange and foreign lands afar

They die a useless fearful death
Spouses chocking bated breath

In death are lost the hopes of all
All that’s left are names on a wall

Of thought of action of useless war
Bring the living home from afar
