Loud Nights Of A Broken Home Poem by Nerissa Morton

Loud Nights Of A Broken Home

Night after night they argue
Yelling to and frow
'How could you keep talking to her? '
'We are just friends! '

Hours on end the lovers would bicker
As their scared daughters lay sobbing;
Sobbing in fear in their separate rooms
It's like their parents simply did not care

She, one of the daughters was worried;
Would they seperate?
Is my autistic sister going to be okay?
Too much for a 15 year old girl to handle

For hours on end it continued;
The sobbing, fears and fighting
Repeating at least once a day
A continuous cycle, around and around

Waiting for an end,
She held strong;
Protected her sister
And never broke

She was a strong girl
Who had a hard life
Sometimes she shared
But never showed the fear
Always, she will be, I will be, a rock
