She knows that he loves her
He knows that she loves him
One is honest to tell so
Another afraid to commit.

She writes poetry, tells him to see her
If he's got some work,
He likes her company, misses her
And tells her.

I ask you
If they are not in love
What are they in
O Lord! make them understand
Honesty in love
Gives satisfaction from within.

For a friend can be a lover
And lover a friend
A fact so simple
That most fail to understand.
