Every time we say goodbye,
I worry it's the last time.
We promised that I,
Wouldn't get in the way,
Of you and your happy ending.
Just by talking to you,
I'm already breaking that promise.

You said that we should forget each other,
'It's for the best' you said.
Just the thought of never talking again,
Made me start to cry.
But I believe in the old saying,
The one about letting go.
So I stayed strong,
And told you to go,
But you never did.

Every time you speak to me,

I get all happy,
With butterflies in my stomach.
