Love Poem by Austin Moore

Love

The word is so foreign, another language
How haven’t I earned this painless privilege
I think you deserve everything I can give
But all that you take is my reason to live
My blood now drains black, it pours out of my heart
You’re the race that I simply refuse to start
You’ve broken my face cause I can’t learn to smile
I don’t believe that I’m still in denial
It’s silly that you want what I’ve given you
I don’t know what to say, don’t know what to do
Lack of this emotion is a good excuse
You’ve given me reason to tighten this noose
Love is just the tree that I hang this noose from
Because since I’ve been born my heart has been numb
