Love Poem by Elliot Fox

Love

A saying you've heard much before
Is 'love is like a rose'
And while that saying may be true
I've something to propose:

True love is like the roundest moon
Important, full and bright
It's scattered far and wide like stars
A-lighting up the night

'With love's light wings' did Romeo
Go to his Juliet
But unlike theirs, love's rarely so
Spelled out and ready-set

Because love's like a bramble-thorn:
It's filled - no, rife with pain
The best of loves, I tell you now
Will drive you quite insane
