Love And Pardon Poem by Rm. Shanmugam Chettiar

Friday is the day of crucifixion;
Sunday is the day of resurrection.
These two events observed with involvements
Are most characteristic of spirituality.

‘Verily I say unto you that one
Of you shall betray me.' Prediction came true.
‘Before the cock crows thou shall deny me
Thrice.', said Jesus and prediction came true.

Jesus performed thirty three miracles,
Exhibiting His supernatural power
And yet He didn't use it to save Himself
And not uttered any word in his defence.

‘Love God with all thy heart, with all thy soul,
With all thy strength and with all thy mind
And love thy neighbours as thyself.', said He.
Christianity is founded on Love.

‘Love your enemies, bless them that curse you,
Do good to them that hate you and pray for them
Which despitefully use you and prosecute you.'
Christianity is founded on Pardon.

Love and pardon stand for the world harmony.
Jesus commands you to follow these two.
Had He not been claimed by a religion
He would have been owned by everyone.
