Love At Sunset In Key West Poem by C.A. Morrow

Love At Sunset In Key West

I held your heart close as the red sun set
Submerging to the horizon dreams we forget
Red sky over a shimmering grey sea
Wishing my love here would always be

As that globe of mercury slipped away
I felt your heart beat with a gentle sway
No place, no time, will ever erase
The shadows of love at that place

Now many years have drifted from that point
Where a key ends and time is out of joint
The love we felt has forever flew
The winds of time we never knew

Yet, that day in my memory will forever dwell
When I held you close and the red sun fell
So if dark days upon you ever descend
Throw your mind back to where it can mend
