Love Is A Nonsense Poem* Poem by Donna Ialongo

Love Is A Nonsense Poem*

love is a nonsense poem
wreathed in black and
purple, sitting on a
gilded lily, making
faces at a star

love is a sour note
painted in yellow polka
dots, making eyes at
chidren teasing, bringing
flowers to held hands

love is a crooked smile
pretending that it's won
the moon, singing like
a shouting murmur, storming
for a lover's soul

love is a proud moutain
resting at an angel's side,
speaking like a kissing
cat, rubbing noses with
the sun
