Love Is A Wagon On Wheels Poem by John W. McEwers

Love Is A Wagon On Wheels

Love must not be bound
Must be free to roll on perfect wheels
Wheels with spokes
And rubber
And heart
And soul union.

When untethered it can carry
Any load upon its frame
Can handle good
Can handle bad
Can handle kids and snow and rain.

It is only when love loses a wheel
That it ceases to be a proper wagon
And it loses its contents on the road
And passers-by can take your stuff.
