Rating: 5.0

Limbo is love and we enter amoungst all our friends approving faces and clapping hands and walk straight under the stick because were loved for who we are and then to the beginning again, but this time theres anticipation from our friends as we have to bend from our normal selves but we manage, Then to the begining again... but we see we have to bend to far why should we? all our friends and family are there we will let them down, so akimb we go stretched beyond normality obviously hurting but telling all about wat a great time you have doing what you do and then bbooooooom your flat on your back the sticks been put back now the question remains do i dance again? or am i not made for passing under the stick? Its a dilema isnt it?

I think this to be a poem about goals and expectations. We are expected to endure a certain pain threshold and this seems to be set by a varying height which is set by society. As; You begin limbo at a comfortable height and then gradually lower the stick which can be thought of as raising the bar in hijump or pole vaulting. And in the corporate world it is refered to as upward mobility and each increase in elevation brings added responsibility. Limbo is a metaphorical reference to the progression of pain and suffering as you extend the limits of financial and relational risk. All are expecting you to fail. If you succeed then your rewarded with rum and a pat on the back.
