Love Is Lost Poem by asaolu kolawole ifedayo

Love Is Lost

Where is love? i say
when a husband cannot but
inflict pains on his own beloved wife
a tale-teller of lies
having thousands concubine outside his wedlock
while his children are lacking behind

Where is love? i say
when a wife cannot but
abuse his caring husband
on a sick climate of life
an harlot of every street
making her genital an object of mockery
while her children at home has no motherly care

Where is love? i say
when a child cannot but
disrespect her parent in slum
just because they cant afford her a costly car
member of nefarious gang
threatning to kill his beloved mother

Where is love? i say
when our leaders at the top
has no vision for the upcoming youths
jobless graduates roaming the street
with no means of survival
and we all owned these money
but inside their power pocket, its endless piles port

Where is love? i say
when pretty men like diamond
set off their deadly bomb
to destroy innocent souls and homes
traitors of holy prophet
fighting their own way to rule

Where is love? i say
when a poor man finger
cannot lick from the dish of rich man neighbour
lean bones of multi- beggars
crush aside by tyre of their modern cars

When is love? i say
when brother can no longer be their brothers keeper
and sister betrayed by her trusted sisters

Where has love been to?
please, can someone tell me this
where is our true freedom in love?
iam so weary and weak
and i want to know why?
why a solemn saint have turned into a beast
proclaiming war in the name of love

O love! if my sacrifice can make thee stay,
then let it be! i will like an humble christ
tender my soul in gladness
for everyone in the world
to live in peace and harmony.
O! Love, come back to us now
and reign again in our midst.
