Love isn't beautiful and it's path isn't smooth
Love is cooking and cleaning when you're not in the mood
Love is the yelling, the problems, the fight
Love is still being there, being their light
It's the wet rag on the forehead and holding their hand
and being strong when you don't think you can
It's going without to get what they need
And giving things up so they can succeed
It's not giving in even when they cry
because you know it's best to tell them goodbye
It's going to see them by giving up eating
It's the smiling and crying seeing them succeeding
Love isn't beautiful and it's really not easy
but that's the beauty of it if you ever need me
