Love Is So Strange Poem by Dr John Celes

Love Is So Strange

When dogs and cats can get along so well,
And sleep together, taking peaceful rest,
And play with each other like friends, when young,
Unmindful of their natural enmity…

When genes stay suppressed by the environment –
Congenial and training appropriate,
Even foes can stay as friends, if times permit,
And hate’s forgotten, a phenomenon!

The cat hates damp and loves to remain warm;
The dog requires coolness of the ground;
If properly taken care of, they both
Adjust and stay as friends and not as foes!

Love is something stranger than we all think;
Love manifests amongst ev’n natural foes!
‘The cat and dog’- is a mighty example;
Let human beings learn to live in peace.

Forget your problems at least while you rest;
A bit of adjustment is magic big;
Love strangely blossoms ev’n amongst foes!
Foes are not foes forever for lifetimes.

Sometimes, wild animals too adjust well;
The training matters and the environs;
When basic wants are taken care of, then,
One’s baser instincts vanish for sometime!

Men ought to live in peace and harmony;
We cannot lead a life of suspicions;
Let races, nations live in amity;
The earth belongs to every one of us!

Why fight and stay awake when slumber calls?
Why keep our bickering alive always?
There’s love amongst beasts that are natural foes!
Why can’t you live, let others live as well?
