Love Knot Fantasia Poem by Jennifer Zoller

Love Knot Fantasia

He reaches for red velvet
on the blackest of nights
In his dreams
he strokes her midnight hair
while round the perfume
fall their blood-stained tears
Shadows of passion
and wind-tossed clouds
steeds of black
in the crimson night
Love is black
as his throbbing heart
Moonlight red
like her trembling hands
scarlet fire in the night
her eyes burning black
Death is love so suddenly
the steel of his flashing blade
as colors mingle in the dust
screaming red
and black dripping
from her midnight hair
while the wind is sudden silence.
